- 2. Presentation by Cat Trap Pat, Inc. Pat and Donna gave a presentation with offer to help with a feral cat event. They can arrange a veterinary mobile clinic with ability to treat 60 cats on an event day.The cats can be neutered and vaccinated with general health checkup. After presentation members present voted to plan for feral cat trap event after the holidays. Sandy Churchill will lead planning.
- 3. Treasurer’s report: $616.50, cash from Trunk or Treat 50/50 and cash donations are pending. We thank the Beach Stop for $500 to fund Trunk or Treat. Thank you to Melissa and Sean Robson for donating juice boxes for the kids Trunk or Treat.
- New business
- 1. Henry Gayhart resigned as interim president. He will plan to remain an active member and volunteerto chair or assist with events. Sandy Churchill will move into position as interim president. Daria Arbogast will act as interim secretary.
- 2. Continue planning for Breakfast with Santa on December 6 led by Sandy Churchill. Event will be from 9 am until noon.
- 3. Plan to discuss Zoom meetings and consider other meeting place options due to acoustics in the tornado shelter at next meeting.Trustee report: Cedar Rd Playground as been bidded 2 weeks ago. Work should progress this fall/winter. Tornado Shelter not paid, Balderson office calling about it every week. Personnel keeps changing so new person to whom to talk frequently. State will release the fund they have and they feel that rest of federal funds will come through. United Way representative was at the meeting. They support summer kids activities. I have the business card of the representative who was at the meeting. I have some material about ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Contrained, Employed) program to help folks who need access to affordable chiildcare and early education, emergency food and housing assistance, mental health and crisis support and financial literacy and workforce development. There may be money for derelict building demolition. Let trustees know if in need. 7 new home permits were issued in Walnut Township, bulk still on the Beach. A cell tower is going up behind the Beach Stop. The are a total of 3 new towers planned for Walnut Township. Township office will now accept credit card payments with probably a 5% fee.
- BLRC report: Picnic point renovations expected to be completed in Spring of 2026. Expect break ground next month. There are revisions to the plans for the North Shore Park and Pier regarding placement of the pier so that the boat ramp will be more protected. Moving the pier east will protect the docks at the newly renovated Picnic Point and create a calm channel to and from Crane Lake. A new walkway/promenade will connect the beach area to the pier. There will be a new restroom/changing area. Greenspace will be increased and drivability improved with a new ramp access road. If you want to support BLRC, there will be a 36 hour match program 8 am Tuesday December 2ndthrough 8 pm December 3rd. Donations may be made online or in person. The first one posted September 15 with Mayor Mockus of Hebron. Bike Buckeye Lake Christmas Bike Giveaway has request for 217 bikes from Perry, Fairfield and Licking Counties. Each bike and helmet averages $135. https://bikebuckeyelake.org/bike-for-kids/The 3rd annual Kids Bike Safety Rodeo will be May 9 in the Thornport area, probably at the Shelly Concrete parking lot on Blackbird Lane.The trail on Lancer Road (buckeye Senic Trail) ribbon cutting was in October. Work continues on extending and connecting safe trails in the area. Work continues on improving water quality with adding wetlands, areation, dredging and opening and filtering feeder canals and waterways. Brooks Park wetland was evaluated as a top performer for waterquality and removing nutrients compared to other Ohio wetlands. ODNR controls the dredge schedule. Projects underway: Crystal Lake, N. Shore Pier, Millersport Canal.
